| Thank you to everyone who walked in this year's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event on October 15, 2006. More than 5,500 participants helped raise $600,000 in the fight against breast cancer. |
| Dogs Walk Festival April 28, 2007 www.dogswalk.com Flushing Meadow Park, here we come! As you know, many members of the JVPDA are determined to raise money to combat Cancer. Initially, we did this by forming a walking team in October. Now, we're at it again, acting as co-chair for this Cancer Society event. These breakthroughs will lead to improved treatments and hopefully, one day, to a cure. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society. Here's a sneak-peek at some of the events we have planned so far.
Although it is called Dogs Walk, it will be more like a leisurely day out with our pets. You can participate as much or as little as you'd like. And it's easy on the wallet, too! Registration is $20.00 per person or $30.00 for a family of four. (Kids under 10 are free!) Naturally, additional fund raising is encouraged, but not required. And registering is a snap at our website, www.dogswalk.com! And for all the youngsters out there, check us out on myspace at www.myspace.com/dogswalkagainstcancer! Parking will be available. Below is some general information. Please share it with family, friends, co-workers, fellow dog lovers, anyone who might be interested. We hope to make this a great event and raise a lot of money in the fight against cancer. Thanks, Terri Sullivan & Jean Mizutani |
